Rita's new bijou

Rita received an email some time ago. It suggested, there had been a package on the way. Rita became realy excited and decided to move to our mailbox. But it turned colder and Rita thouht she would have frozen, wearing only her favorite lingerie. As the days were passing, Rita was growing sadder and sadder...

And on last Wednesday the sun shined and the Post decided to have mercy on Rita. A white envelope appeared in our mailbox and I presumed it was from Rita's secret admirer...

Look, what Rita has found inside:

A pair of tiny silver earrings, in her favorite colors!

All Wednesday afternoon Rita was hiding in her cosy boudoir.
I took this paparazzi shot of her, trying on exquisite new bijou.

Thank you, so much Mamoon, for making Rita this happy!

And what did I make for Valentine's Day Swap?

As I wrote before, I had taken part in Valentine's Day Swap. It was real fun to get and no less fun to give :) I was Michelle's Valentine. And that's what I prepared:

A set of marble magnets. I called it "Tweet".

A needlefelted birdie.

My pride and joy: a ribbon with Michelle' name on it.
I wanted to try making such ribbons for some time now. I got the idea from wonderful PatchwokPottery site. It was fun to make, but my home smelled for two days :)

I packaged it all. With care.

I entrusted the Post with the task of handing it over to Michelle.
And did it reach her? Read here :)

Valentine's Day Swap

Craftladies' Valentine's Day Swap has been my first swap ever. I've been watching various swaps for some time and it seemed like a really nice thing. Now I KNOW swaps ARE a really nice thing!

I was Michelle's Secret Valentine - but I'll write about it next time.

I got my package a few days before Valentine's Day. White paper, golden string. We were not supposed to open it until Feb 14... Waiting wasn't easy :) On Valentine's Day my older daughter woke me up screeming: "oooooopeeen iiiiiiiiit!" And so I opened IT.

Renatka (aka mikaz16) has sent me a stunning pergamano card. It must have taken ages to make. The heart on the card is unbelivably subtle. And the whole card is so neat and delicate I was almost afraid to touch it. But I did and I found a lovely poem inside.

But there was one more thing inside my package. A hand painted glass pendant. Really, really nice, believe me.

Thank you so much, Renatka!

Rita

She might not be quite ready for a debutante ball yet, but I think this felted mademoiselle can be introduced to the society now. Her name is Rita.

Rita is bigger than my previous dolls (ca. 30cm "standing"). Making her took some 22 hours. I used semi-worsted wool fiber, which made the felting process semi-pleasant :)
Rita is string jointed, so she can be posed. As you can see.

Rita loves nice lingerie and reading "Pride and Prejudice" while sitting in her lavender fainting couch. This little piece of furniture wasn't that easy to needlefelt, but I really like what I've got. I used merino wool for the couch and wooden beads for it's feet.

Rita is a lucky girl - she won 1st place in Craftladies' phorum Winter Craft Contest. There were two projects winning to be exact :)
She was more than happy! And so was I :)

Hello :)

And so it starts, on Valentine's Day... Still non quite happy with the page layout, I've decided to start writing today anyway.
I'd like this blog to be on felting and my many other passions.
And maybe on other bright aspects of my life - from time to time...

I would like it to be a diary for myself. And perhaps, one day, my little girls would like to read some of it for themselves.

I would also like to welcome any of you, who comes by. Feel free to leave any comments on what you see and read here. Especially on my english :)
